I have not received a registration e-mail though. Are sign ups closed? Or is there a significant wait to receive the opt in email?
When did you sign up? Users are only added on the next major update. The current beta is 8.8. New users won’t be added until 8.9.

Beta versions are available in the announcement thread. Subscribe to the thread to receive a notification when new versions are released. Scroll to the bottom of the thread, change Normal to Watching.
To sideload, use the Downloader app (Google Amazon).
Google “sideload downloader FireStick,” “sideload downloader Android TV,” etc. for detailed instructions. You’ll need to enable apps from unknown sources in the device settings. Usually under Developer Options or similarly named area of the settings.
Sideloaded apps do not auto-update. You will have to manually install each update. Once you’re in the beta program delete the side loaded version and load from the app store. The app will then auto-update like any other in the app store.
