We’re always interested in new beta testers to help us improve the quality and stability of some of our apps. If you feel that you have time to help us test pre-release builds, or if you’re having a specific problem you’d like to help us resolve, then joining our app betas might be for you.
Android (mobile) and Android TV
To receive beta versions of our Android app, you need to have your Google Play account “opt in” to receive the beta updates, which is done at the link below (when signed in to the appropriate Google Play account).
- Opt In to Beta: Go to Google Play Store to become beta tester
After doing so, Google Play should offer beta versions for updates.
Apple TV and iOS
Sign Up For Beta Access

- TestFlight: Apple TV and iOS
Please note that there’s a limited number of slots, so the link might not allow you to sign up right now. We periodically remove inactive testers, so check back again soon if you were unlucky this time.
Beta updates
New beta versions are distributed via the TestFlight app from Apple and need to be installed manually. You’ll receive e-mails and push notifications when these are available.
Stop testing
To stop testing Plex just head over to the TestFlight app and tap on Stop Testing
(see screenshots below).
Unsubscribing from e-mail updates
Since these e-mails are sent by Apple, we can’t manage your subscription directly. To be clear, we (Plex) don’t even know what’s your TestFlight email address if you use the public link to sign up.
If you wish to continue testing Plex but don’t want to receive e-mail notifications, head over to the app details on TestFlight, where you can manage your notifications easily:
