I’m using Home assistant and create automations based on the state of my Android tv. For example I want my lights in my living room to do certain stuff when starting or ending video playback.
With YouTube or other Android tv apps, when pressing pause, Android tv reports its state as “Paused” which allows me to perform automations based on this state (transition from Playing to Paused) or when stopping video playback (state Idle in Android tv) turns back on all lights.
However, Plex is more annoying and when pressing pause, it actually reports as Idle. This state is the same as being in the menu of Plex.
To make matters worse, Idle is the same state as simply being in the Android menu’s and doing nothing. This causes all my lights to turn on when pressing pause in Plex which is very undesirable.
I cannot distinguish both behaviors from each other anymore and thus causing automations to be messed up and unusable.
Could you please correct the wrong reporting of this state and use “Paused” state when pausing a video playback?
