Android TV support for audio HE-AAC

Server Version#: 1.31.1.6782
Player Version#: 9.21.1.1169

I keep a few tv recordings temporarily for sports replays and noticed whenever audio is HE-AAC the video does not play at all. I see the audio is trying to transcode from AAC to null. I am able to direct play other regular AAC, but not able to do anything with HE-AAC.

Using synology Nas DS920+ and plex docker container.

What player do you use? I’ve had a variety of android tv devices and never had any problem with HE-ACC.

What format is the video?

I’d be more suspicious that the videos that come with HE-ACC have a video codec that your player doesn’t like

It doesn’t take much CPU horsepower to transcode audio so I can’t imagine that’s enough to shut down your video

Sorry. I should have added that information, I am using Shield TV. The video file j’s mpegts file, ts container.
I do notice my Nas struggles with audio transcoding, but I guess that’s a separate issue. Lol

I do see a similar issue here

Are you running any subtitles on these videos you have trouble with?

No subtitles.

No subtitles. For reference it plays fine in tivimate, which also uses exoplayer. So it’s a plex app issue. And yea. That’s issue you have linked is what I have.
