I have the problem that with relatively many mkv files the desired video does not begin to play. When I try to play such a file, only a black screen with the loading animation appears. Sometimes it is enough to start and stop the video a few times, eventually it works. When I start the video via the Plex web interface on the Synology Nas there are no problems. There are also no problems when I start such a file with Sony’s own mediaplayer. It seems to me that this may have something to do with the update to DSM 7, but it may also be a coincidence and not related to DSM 7 but maybe to an Android TV Plex update. I had for years actually no problems with the playback on the Nas and the Sony TV, but suddenly it hacks.
I attached a android tv log file where I tried to start a video but nothing happened, hopefully it is usefull, if not let me know so I can provide more informations.

Yup, I had the exact same issue. Found it was only media that had embedded subtitles that refused to play. Plex Web, fine. Android TV would endlessly load or very occasionally play. Stripped out the subs and they play immediately.

Dsm 7 made so many problems with my sony androidtv. My nvidia shield tv doesn’t have Any playback issues.
The problem i have is that the tv transcodes vc1 videoformats. And has audio errors.
Sometimes the sound goes away for a split secund. And eg Harry Potter 1 4k blu ray mkv stutters when the movie goes from the first scene to the title scene.
The audio is dts x but shows as dts hd on my receiver. When playing through the tv to my receiver from nvidia shield tv there is no errors. I have also talked to Sony about this for a couple of months. But they just say that it is not their problem. So i hope Plex can fix it.
I should not be needed to use an external player. The tv should be able to play dts x og dolby atmos and vc1 without the tv changing it for the worse. Only vc1 makes my nas transcode.
