Anime episodes always crash near end

Server Version#: 1.26.0.5715
Player Version#: Plex for Samsung 5.36.1 (Platform Version 4)

Issue:
Player crashes when there is roughly around a minute left of an anime show. The crash displays the spinning icon, as if it’s buffering, and then moments later says error an unexpected playback problem occurred. This happens to all anime episodes, and only anime. My normal tv shows are perfectly fine.

Troubleshooting:
I can play the same anime episodes from my mobile and tested from the web player on a PC and they play perfectly fine and it don’t crash.

Extra info:
Anime shows use the Absolute Series Scanner and HamaTV agent for over a year now without any issues. No Plex configuration changes for over a year, everything has just been working as it should, until about a month or two ago this started happening out of the blue. It’s really frustrating as I cannot watch my anime without it crashing. Please help!

I have been running into the same issue with the same debug logs. I have tried the “Allow insecure connections” workaround as seen here but to no avail. It also started around 1-2 months ago for me. It happens near the end (typically 40sec-1min) but it also just happened for me during the opening of a show (1-2min in). It never happens in the middle of the show.

It appears that Plex Media Server can’t access the directory listed in the error message when transcoding.

Check file/folder permissions. Is the user Administrator running Plex Media Server? If Plex is running under a different userid, it may not be able to access the directory.

Also, check that there is sufficient space on the c:\ drive, that it is not filling up with temp files when Plex is transcoding.

I have tried changing every Plex executable to run with admin privileges. I also tried changing the location of the temp transcoding storage folder location and updating the windows security options to “Allow All” for the folder, however the error persists. There is sufficient space on my C:/ drive.

File/folder permissions are good. In fact, I allowed full permissions to the folder in question since that was what the error suggested to no avail. It appears the issue is unrelated to permissions and is a bug in the player.

The same media plays fine on other players, this only occurs when played from the samsung-tizen player.
