Another Plex Library Problem

Hey Guys, I am not on my home network so I don’t have my server version but everything is up to date, Newest Mac OS, and Newest Plex Media Server. I have been using Plex for probably a decade. Nothing that I am aware of changed on my Mac mini server and all of a sudden it stopped adding new content but all my old content was there. I have tried firewall settings, changing my Eero settings to basically everything being off, the list goes on and on I have exhausted this for 2 weeks. Last night I came across an article running some commands in terminal, deleting some database files, and I decided to go the whole way and delete everything and start fresh. After so many tries finally, old content, and new started to populate. The most recent show I had downloaded came in fine the entire season with cover art and I went to sleep feeling triumphant. This morning I woke up to double check my fix worked and I was back to square one, all new content beyond when the issue started was now back deleted out of libraries and I am stumped.

I can post my logs later, but the common thing that looked weird to me is some errors connecting to my IP 127.0.0.1:32000/plugins and some other folders looked like they were not coming back resolved. I changed my DNS on server and router to the same google DNS, no port forwarding, all firewall settings off, MAC has given Plex permissions to all files and folders, all drives are read right for the correct account. If anyone has had this issue and can chime in it would be greatly appreciated. I seem to find the solutions for people with nothing in their library not old content working and new not populating. Thanks again

I think it’s log time, and preferred right after adding new contents

Thanks for the response Dane. This is my first time posting so which log file would you like I can send the most recent from last night and what is the best way to post so its not a gigantic block of plain text.

I pulled a different log file and noticed some database errors. perhaps this is something that I missed. But I have done everything recommended to rectify database issues and this last go around they populated and then deleted themselves seems odd.

You have a broken database :frowning:

Might wanna restore a backup.

Look here: Restore a Database Backed Up via 'Scheduled Tasks' | Plex Support

I deleted all Plex contents last night, app support files and basically started from scratch and added new libraries which resulted in the same no new shows issue. So unless what I did wouldn’t give me a fresh start on the database I am still stumped.

Perhaps my SSD is dying?

If the whole directory was removed, then the database was also deleted

If so, do you perhaps have some AntiVira solution scanning/monitoring that directory?

I do not have anything installed on this particular computer but Plex, and Dropbox

Okay, then shut down PMS, rename the databases directory, and start PMS again.

That would 100% ensure a clean database
