Another Question On Aspect Ratio

Now some movies old ones have not full screen on plex but in vlc player i can put the aspect ratio on 16:9 why i cant do that with plex?

Plex is just forwarding the picture as-is. Usually your TV might have an option to zoom/stretch the video. However… as the source isn’t 16:9, the video won’t magically adjust. Zooming/stretching will either cut away parts of the picture (top/bottom) or stretch it so things get out of proportion (content gets “wider”).

In the past I’ve experienced that some software used to rip/transcode a movie doesn’t properly maintain information for anamorphic pictures. Those are stored in a format that is supposed to be stretched to fit 16:9 while the actual raw aspect ratio isn’t. From what I remember, VLC used to be more forgiving towards such settings. Not sure if you potentially ran into such a situation?!

i have a 65 inch 4k tv i know that but i like to have full screen on a big tv 65 inch 4k:)

in that case the short answer is: Plex cannot do it
does your 65" 4k tv have an option to zoom/stretch the picture? My (non 65") tv has an option to auto-adjust the image based on the source format it gets.

yes i can do that on my tv i can stregh it to evrywhere i want it.

Apple TV 4 allows double tap on swipe pad to fill the screen

that is nice now i can change it in all direction but my internet screen doesend fits then but then movie is full screen change it to all directions

i have a 65 4k lg tv and i can change the settings to all direction so i can tweak it til the screen fits but if i do that when i go on the internet the screen is also not good anymore but i can do that only when watching a movie with not full screen i hope plex fix this so we can edit 16:9 aswel
