I would be pretty happy with even limited audiobook support. That is Plex could release audiobook support with only FF/RW/Resume working and no metadata importing at all.
That should be quite easy but I am sure, if it is being worked on at all, that Plex is trying to make audiobooks work with full audiobook metadata and a “pretty” interface.
For now I guess I will just continue to use MediaMonkey on a small computer to play my audiobooks. I have implemented a workaround that works OK on my Rokus using Plex but it is kind of a kludge and it seems that the MediaMonkey setup on a computer is both better and more reliable, at least for now.
No official news to report on this topic, sorry to say. Best one can do is to vote on the request since Plex doesn’t give out road maps or timeplans.
Except they did say it was being worked on in Oct 2015…
