Any plan on facial recognition?

Do you guys know if there is any ongoing plan to add facial recognition to the library for photos?

Not aware of any plans. Plex won’t usually discuss their roadmap publicly.

Though, there‘s a feature suggestion where you can vote for this.

Facial Recognition for Photos

The main reason I use Google photos is because they have facial recognition with advanced features (facial learning, search, filter, label, etc…). It would be awesome if Plex could provide similar functionality for photos. They’ve actually created a service for this that should handle all the heavy lifting - Vision AI | Derive Image Insights via ML  |  Cloud Vision API
