Are there any plans to update the xbox one UI to match the much much much improved/almost perfect UI of the android TV app?
Have android tv on my main tv, and whenever I come to use it on secondary via xbox its so clunky.

That won’t happen. Plex tend to use a design that’s most suited to the platform. The Android TV app is suited to Android TV, not another ecosystem.
Lol, an update period would be nice
What matter does the ecosystem have to do with the look of something? Xbox current iteration is not suited for use with the xbox. If they updated like the OP said to the Android TV style that would be killer with the Xbox Media remote.
Sorry devs. I love you guys, but it would be nice to get an update on the next update. It’s been a long time since we’ve heard anything on an update for Xbox. Don’t “stonewall” us completely.

Usually each ecosystem has its own styling guide to produce applications that merge well with the general look and feel of the platform. See Google with Material Design, which is the one at the core of the Android TV Plex app, while XBox has the “tiles” based interface (which was later used as a base for Plex Media Player on PC and other platforms that have less clear styling guides). Even Plex on Apple TV is different from the others being more in line with the look and feel of Apple apps.
Now it is up to plex to chose whether they want to adhere to the platform style guides (which usually also implies easier programming and leveraging platform specific features) or to produce a GUI that “fits all”, maybe at the cost of some user interface features. They tried to do something similar with PMP interface, losely based on XBox one and adapted for Roku, Opera TV and others.

Hey there. Haha we’re really not trying to avoid you guys! We’ve just been super super busy working on the update, amongst other things. I’m sorry it’s taking so long, but I assure you we are still working on the Xbox One app behind the scenes, and hope to have something out as soon as we can.

Awesome! Thanks so much for the update! We appreciate all the hard work you guys put in to this.
Good to see this is still being worked on. What does the Android TV UI look like? Is that the same as the UI for the Kodi plugin or is it different?

It is a bit different.

Ah ok thanks for clarifying. So it’s the `normal’ Android GUI then as I was under the impression Android and Android TV have different GUIs. That’s what the android app on my Wetek Hub looks like as well.

If I’m not mistaken Plex for Android has two interface: one “TV” version which is the one you see in that picture, and one “app” version which is more similar to the iPad/iPhone interface
HDR activation please

They’re not working on bring the Android TV UI to Xbox. There has been no comment in this thread to suggest that.

Can you share the reasons why it is taking so long? At the moment I’m realy disappointed with Plex on the Xbox and the communication from the devs. There was a time when you gave us insights from development and the certifictaion process. Why did you change this?

My 2 cents, I have been around quite awhile and have seen this back and forth. The problem when they do give insight into what they are doing is that people then ask for a time line. When they don’t meet that timeline people get upset and all they hear on these forums is how they did not meet the “deadline”. So, they get tired of defending themselves and stop giving insight into what’s going on. They stop for awhile and get backlash for not saying anything. Really no matter what they do it’s not enough. If they give you a little information there is always people that want more… I imagine you would spend all day just answering those questions, when they could be working on an update or helping with issues on the forums. That being said. This has been a really really long time for an update and is kind of getting to be a disappointment.
