Thanks for the replies - I was hoping there was a magic ‘fix’ but it looks like I (we) could be in for a long wait before things improve - at least on the Android TV based clients anyway.
Most of my OTA TV watching is done on one TV so I’ll give the Roku client a shot on that TV and see how it goes. I’ll have to stick with Shield for my sound system setup in the ‘Movie’ room downstairs. Don’t want to give up the TrueHD audio and I don’t use the live TV or OTA recorded shows down there.
I guess I should have read through the support forums before I went all-in on plex. Disappointing how poorly the DVR functions work (it’s 2022 people! Ever used a Tivo?) along with the mind-boggling missing features using the music library stuff.
Fingers crossed that Plex will make some changes but judging by what I’ve found here they are painfully slow on fixes in general and even slower when it comes to adding features - no matter how simple the features are.
