Since the recent PMS upgrade, live TV stops working a few minutes into the stream. Get the circle of death forcing me to back out the live tv activty and reenter only for it to freeze up again.
I’ve attached the server and player logs here.
It seems there’s a “Failed to find consumer…” error which I cant seem to find a solution to. Any ideas.
The Live TV stopped on Sept 9 at ~08:57.
Interestingly, there were errors detected by PMS at ~08:54 before finally terminating at 08:57.
I experienced this last night on a android TV box, i had my iphone streaming the same channel/stream with no issues so it must be something with the Android client. If i look at the plex dashboard the client completely dissapears… no buffering notice, like its a complete disconnection.
Unfortunately i don’t have logs as was too long ago, hopefully your logs help resolve the issue
Thanks for the report @vishal207 it looks like from your logs the player is reporting the wrong position so we end up sending the wrong timings to the server, so I will try to reproduce
Another data point that might help as well, was this when tuning channels from the TV guide? or was it from other areas in the app? or does it not matter?
Good afternoon, any update on this? I have been getting the same error all week. My wife is not very happy about it either… Fire Stick 4k playing live tv from a HDHomeRun. Plex Media Server is running on Windows 10. I get failed to find consumer … for session … Then I get Session xxx terminated. Then I get Got a transcode session ping without a session GUID (or with an invalid one). That error continues every 30 seconds until I change the station.
Actually, looking at the debug logs, I am seeing this just before everything hangs:

There appears to be some sort of issue with PMS timing out and killing the live tv stream while I’m in the middle of watching a show. It happens every few minutes some times.
I just wanted to chime in and say it has something to do with PMS transcoding of live TV. I changed my tuner settings to “high quality 30fps” aka “mobile” so my HDHomeRun Extend would internally transcode to 720 h264, and it plays fine and I’m not getting any timing errors. The only downside is that my picture doesn’t look clear like it does when I have Plex do the transcoding.
Have the same issue on Android TV(Nvidia Shield) downgraded the Plex app to 8.5.2.20133 and the issue looks to be gone. Keeping an eye on the thread so I know when I can update again. Thanks for looking into this daioio and jesusmc
