I absolutely love the new ‘Mixes For You’ feature. In the last few days, one of them appeared that turned out to be completely perfect. Since I know it will eventually disappear and be replaced by another one, is there a way to permanently save it before it happens? Maybe a way to save it into a regular playlist or something?
Can you download it? Does that work? I see the option to download but I’m not sure that it keeps the songs in a Mix
I’m not sure what this would do except downloading a number of songs to the device, which I do not want at the moment. I would only like to save the Mix itself. Like in a playlist, for example.
Downloading m4u is similar to downloading regular albums, playlists, radios…
As of today there’s no way to save a m4u to a playlist.

If I’m in Plexamp, in the Home screen:
- I press on one of the Mixes.
- I select ‘Download…’
- I then select the number of hours I want to download from the Mix using the slider that appears.
It will download a m4u? What should I do with the resulting m4u?
I thought it would download the songs to my device for offline listening, like it does everywhere else in the app I think?
After #3, Plex will download the selected amount of music from the mixes-for-you (m4u) to the playlists section of the downloads tab within Plexamp. From there you can play the files. – same as when you download an album, a regular playlist, some radio…
No reusable / actual playlist is created on your server.
Ah! I see, I thought you were talking about a file extension named m4u. I misunderstood, sorry.
Yeah, it seems it’s probably the only way right now to “save” the result of a Mix. Except that you need to actually download the songs to all the devices you’re using Plexamp on. Which depending on the situation is far from being convenient…
All I would like is a way to permanently save the result of one of the ‘Mixes for You’ that I really like because I know it will disappear eventually.
Personally I think of it this way:
While there are great mixes that are worth saving… there’s similarly great ones to come in the future – so having some kind of rotation isn’t all bad 
Haha! For sure, that’s a good way to think about it. I really think ‘Mixes For You’ is such a great feature.
I still think having the option to save a Mix could be a great future improvement. You could press a button on the Mix called something like ‘Save to playlist…’, which would bring the same slider UI you get when pressing ‘Download…’ where you select an amount of time to save. And then it would create a new playlist with the result. I think it would be great.
Anyway, just a suggestion
