Anyone have any tips on how to get Plex to work in the Mac app “Friendly Streaming Browser”? I use this app for all my streaming (Netflix, Hulu, etc) and I’d love to be able to get Plex to work in it. Plex loads fine in the browser and does everything except play a show - I get a playback error that says “There was an unexpected error during playback. Please visit our forums if you continue to experience problems.” Works fine if I stream through Safari or Edge or Chrome, just not Friendly Streaming.
Why don’t you want to use the native desktop apps (Plex for Mac / Plex HTPC)? Those should always give you a better streaming experience than a browser…
Plex app for Mac doesn’t spatialize stereo for me, versus when I stream by browser it does. The sound difference is remarkable enough for me that I don’t use the Mac Plex app. Also, it should be the same, but the picture quality via streaming also just looks better to me - I get better blacks on Mac Pro 2021 screen (and yes, same exact bit rate, color profile, etc).
