Anyone else's PlexConnect just died?

Hi all,

I have OpenPlex installed so that PlexConnect is always kept upto date.

All was working fine last night.

Today i have just turned on the ATV and my PlexConnect just isn't working.

When entering the TV Shows area, I'm presented with a list on the right hand side of unwatched and all the genres etc. Selecting any of them results in a trailers is unavailable error.

Also, when going to Settings, selecting any of the view options settings also results in this error.

Is anyone else experiencing this issue?

All ive odne is installed a few osx updates on my iMac today so wouldn't think that would be anything to do with this.....

I'm having the exact same problem. The following stack track is showing up in the error log:

I am having this exact problem as well. I just installed Yosemite and thought it was the reason for the issue. Tried reinstalling openconnect and still having the issue. Good to at least know I am not the only one.

I'm wondering if things broke when I upgraded to the latest version of Plex and enabled PlexHome. It said something about increasing the security requirements for my server. Could this be causing PlexConnect to no longer be working correctly?

Plex home does cause issues and Plexconnect has not been updated. You can login with a myplex account and this should authenticate. Alternatively add your Plexconnect and ATV ip addresses into the PMS settings for devices that do not need to authenticate. (Of course this removes the benefits of plex home)

As for the OP, have you rebooted both the ATV and the Mac to make sure nothing is causing connection issues since the updates

I'm hitting this as well. I just upgraded to the latest plexpass media server (0.9.11.5.774-760cb52) and pulled the latest plexconnect from git..

restarted both my server and apple tv and its still broken.

running yosemite 10.10.1

Movies play fine. I only get the error when trying to play TV Shows or adjust the plexconnect settings via the apple TV

Hm. Did some changes yesterday. Did they break it?

Edit:

Here it goes -

/PMS()/&PlexConnect=SettingsHomeVideos?PlexConnectUDID=C1MM2S7VFF54&PlexConnectATVName=Apple%20TV

Badly defined initial parameter "&", now breaking with additional "?"...

Should be fixed again... Sorry, guys!

In another thread I argued against auto updates, and here is a great reason why.

Where exactly does it break? In the OpenPlex app? In one of the themes?

It’s working now so it’s not a problem but I would like to know where the problem was today.

yes. mine is back working now as well. thank you.

Oh man, it's such a relief to know this issue was because of a change in the code haha. I just got plex working on my appletv yesterday evening. Afterwards, nothing I added to my library would play on appletv, but the few movies I added prior to setting up appletv would still play just fine. Was going nuts trying to understand what I did wrong!

Got it all working again now. Thanks for the quick solution :)

But then nobody would report those bugs... :-D

True

Sorry only just to back to check the thread.

Glad its been fixed now.

As a temp fix, i restored from a TM backup from a few days ago to get it working last night.

Thank you Baa, I did noticed last night that something wasn't right, but was late at night and decided to leave it for later. This am, I updated the App and everything resumed as expected. Thanks again!
