Plex Media Server version?
Where is it running?
And what is disconnecting? A TV, mobile phone, etc?
Just trying to figure out what is happening.
Very routine procedure. sign out. download the latest media server, uninstall/install, launch, sign in. get 4 digit code, finish. always works. so it all comes down to, anytime the computer shuts down, then reboots, the connection to the server is lost. is there a simple tweak? thanks for your help.
Tell your web browser to not delete cookies from the domain plex.tv when you close it. (browsers nowadays do this by default)
Also, if you’re signing out of your server (Settings → Server_Name → General), don’t.
That places your server in an unclaimed state, similar to when initially installed. You will have to re-claim the server before streaming to your TV, phone, etc.
