"API rate limit exceeded" When Getting Certificate

What’s the best way to capture the logs and send them to you? The server won’t stay running for much more than a few seconds, so I can’t do much through the web interface. Also - if this needs to be moved to another thread to keep this on topic, I can/will do that.

I can see in the logs that a number of crash dumps have been uploaded … somewhere. Are you able to view those?

  1. Settings - server
  2. DEBUG logging ON,
  3. VERBOSE logging OFF
  4. Restart PMS
  5. Wait 2-3 minutes (for CPU to quiesce)
  6. Settings - Server - Troubleshooting - Download Logs
  7. Attach the ZIP in the PM.

Like I said, the server won’t stay running long enough to do anything in the web interface. The main process crashes out leaving some orphaned plug-in processes behind.

Grab a tar.gz of the “Logs” directory and attach it.
We’ll use whatever we can get.

If need be, we can edit “Preferences.xml” directly to set logging levels.

Server Version#: 1.22.3.4523
Player Version#: 4.58.1 (web player)

I just installed a new copy of plex on a fresh ubuntu 20.04 server. I have been unable to access my server via app.plex.tv due to being unable to establish secure connection. I know believe it might be due to not having proper certificates. In the console I was able to spot the following several times:
CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Is there anything I can do about this rate limit?

@bhawk4000

  1. I moved your post here with the other instances. In the future, please search before creating a thread.

  2. I have reset your certificate. You may restart the server

@ChuckPa
The certificate reset you did for me before has been working perfectly for 3 weeks but today I’m back to getting the same error as before:

ERROR - CERT: Error acquiring new certificate: Failed to upload CSR: 429, <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>

Nothing has changed on my end. Is there anything else I should have done after the reset other than just restarting the server? I am just updating to the latest available version (1.23.2.4625).

Also I am still able to access the server through the apps (android and windows) but not through the webapp.

Shield’s cert reset. You may restart the server

Just added here as this is the far more descriptive of the issue, and you seem to be directing people into this thread :slight_smile:

Issue: need a cert reset since the SSL’s aren’t renewing.
Thanks, you legends!

Thank you for the link.

Closing this thread in favor of a better titled one. :slight_smile:
