Hi, I’m fairly new to Plex and have run into a bit of a roadblock that I can’t seem to figure out myself. For context: recently (yesterday) I built a new PC and today I decided to use the instructions here to copy over my old setup (most importantly, the custom metadata that I’ve added in that would be a pain to try to do by hand again). I performed the migration as described but access seems to be restricted to the local network despite the remote access page stating that it’s fully accessible outside of my network.
I’ve triple checked the port forwarding settings and that all seems above board - don’t have a separate router and modem, just a Bell Home Hub 3000 so I don’t think the double NAT stuff applies here. To clarify: locally I can access the server by IP or via the Plex app on the server itself and I can also access it on my laptop/smartphone via plex.tv or the app (as long as I’m on wi-fi, as one might imagine). My remote users are not able to access the server, however, and I’ve tested that myself by trying to access it using my smartphone on data, which is where I get the message “Unable to connect to securely”.
I did read that there were some issues today with plex.tv DNS and I had my fingers crossed that it would sort out my issue, but unfortunately no such luck for me. That being said, it (and a few other similarly titled posts) did make me take a peek at the logs and I noticed that there definitely seem to be certificate errors floating around. I may have made a mess of things during the day trying to debug this (so basically there may be more servers associated with my account than there should be 🤦🏼) - apologies in advance.
Most of the threads that seem to be about a similar error seem to be resolved by deleting/reseting certificates from what I could tell, but I’m not sure if the migration would cause additional issues.
If anyone could help me out it would be a huge relief, I’ve been puzzling over this for like 12 hours
I’ve attached the logs, let me know if you need any more info. Still trying to get the hang of providing the optimal amount of info for these things.
