Apostrophe and Plexamp music metadata

Test driving Plexamp I noticed that my Last.fm scrobbles don’t match the correct song or album in some cases. It seems to be caused by the ’ apostrophe character which needs to be '.

How can I fix this for my library? Plex Media Server runs on Ubuntu Linux.

That’s likely coming from MusicBrainz, where Plex gathers most of its music metadata. MusicBrainz prefers the ’ character, which is considered typographically correct.

Probably the only way you can override this is to embed the tag with your preferred character in your music files and configure Plex to prefer local metadata. But if you haven’t kept your embedded tags up to date, that can be a huge job.

Ah, damn.

Roon for some reason does not have this issue but I am not sure where it fetches the data. At first I thought it might have to do with my Ubuntu OS settings. You know, localization or something like that.
