App.plex.tv is unable to connect securely

Server Version#: 1.24.1.4931
Player Version#:

As the title states, app.plex.tv is unable to connect to XXXXX securely.

Also, all of my plex clients (Windows, Android/Shield, Roku, Tivo) display the same message or say the server is currently unavailable.

This plex server has been running on the same Windows PC (Lenovo TS-140 Thinkserver) for a number of years. This just started happening with the plex update prior to the 4931 update.

I have plex server running on this PC and also have another plex server running on a Synology DS-920+.

The server on the DS-920+ is working correctly and can be accessed by all of the plex clients I listed.

I can see/access both servers when logged into 127.0.0.1:32400 through Firefox browser on the TS-140 PC.

The plex secure connections setting for the TS-140 is set to preferred.

I have searched for and tried many of the ā€˜fixes’ for this problem and none have so far worked.

What can I do to get this resolved?

I have this same issue. I am a newbie to the Plex world, but all devices connected to my Plex server (Synology DS-420+) were reading my Plex media fine up until a few days ago, then all of a sudden I get the message (on all devices) that MarkE posted and I cannot read my media via the Plex app. This is frustrating and my newly minted lifetime Plex Pass suddenly seems like a poor application of money…

Hi Same here, run Plex server on Qnap Nas for years now.
After update PlexMediaServer-1.24.1.4931-1a38e63c6-x86_64.qpkg no internal connection to server possible. My reverse proxy can’t connect to my nas aswell. PLEASE fix this.

It seems that, other than these forums, there is no way to contact anyone at Plex to get help or technical support for these kinds of issues. Pretty frustrating after paying for a lifetime Plex Pass.

Update - I was able to recover my Plex operation by just rebooting my NAS server… I’m thinking there was a Window update recently that knocked out my Plex connection… Anyway, try a server reboot! Good luck!

I have rebooted the server several times since this started. Still not working for me. :frowning:

It looks like this post is going to die a slow death with no resolution.

May have to un-install and re-install Plex Server. Seems like this should be fixable, but I can’t figure out how.

Okay, so a server update came through that I installed yesterday, Version 1.33.0.2444-a220eae4.

Now my Plex server running on the TS-140 is once again available.
