App Streaming possible from forwarded Plex Server?

Hello guys,

i am planning to forward the plex server to public internet.
My question is now, will Plex Apps for Mobile Devices and TVs connect to the server when its not in the same private network?

Best regards

As long as the server is available on a publicly accessible IPv4 address, any Plex client with internet access can connect to it.
Normally, this is set up automatically by Plex server, as long as the router supports UPnP.

If you are talking about multiple private (virtual) networks, make sure there is a route between them.

Thank you for your reply!

I have now forwarded the port 32400 to public IPv4.
But if i try to conect to my public ip:32400 it loads up plex and gives me an error before signing in with my plex account.

This request could not be completed.
Forwarding takes place automatically

How is this error fixable?.

Where is this error appearing?

Directly when visiting Plex.

But i have already found the solution for that.

Deactivating Plex relay Server in settings + allowing unsecure connections is fixing that problem.

Thank you for your help!
