I know this has been posted in other spots on here, but is there any traction at all on getting CarPlay support for the audio portion of our libraries? Apple has opened up CarPlay to other streaming platforms, why haven’t we moved forward on this? I can use Vox etc on my phone for FLAC playback in the car, but I don’t want to have to constantly transfer the files to the phone every time I was to switch out songs lol.

I would second this. All my media is centralized with Plex. Its so frustrating that have this available on Android Auto, but not CarPlay. I have everything i need with plex, just that I cant access it using the last device in my ecosystem. I have Sonos, Apple TV, computers, HTPC, ipads and my phone. I just need my car!

I too want Plex CarPlay. I was very disappointment when I bought my new SUV last night, Plex did not show up on CarPlay. My wife said, “Cause Plex sucks.”

Check out Prism Music. iOS carplay support and playback for plex music libraries. It’s only $5.
I’d recommend converting all your music to ALAC instead of FLAC because there’s some compatibility issues with FLAC streaming at the moment but otherwise it’s fantastic.
It even does real gapless playback instead of the crossfade garbage that the native Plex app forces on you.

Maybe it’s a chicken & egg problem, then? In my case, and I would imagine many others, I’d be more likely to actually sign up for Tidal through Plex if I could listen to it while in my car through CarPlay. That was the second thought I had when I saw Tidal was introduced to the application, preceded by: “I wonder what the sign-up rate will be for Tidal on Plex?” I know that I haven’t even bothered to look at it.
I second this emotion.

+1 i was surprised that Carplay isn’t supported yet! Yes plex can be played and controlled trough carplay but it isn’t the native App…
