Apple Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro On-Screen Buttons Not Clickable

There are several areas of the UI where the mouse-clicks don’t work with the Apple Keyboard (and I would assume any pointer on the iPad). Easiest to repro is the About page, the back arrow is not clickable with a mouse but does respond to touch. Other areas that don’t respond as expected include:

  • Downloads page, doesn’t scroll if hovering over a downloaded item (only scrolls if mouse is over a blank space between items)
  • Downloads page, X button to close doesn’t respond to mouse click

I’m sure there are others, but can’t remember all the areas where I’ve run into this issue.

Confirming this is my experience also, tested on iPad Pro 13" M5 with Apple Magic Keyboard. Can reproduce 100% of the time with the three examples provided above, and can add that neither the X or Cast buttons at the top work when you open any show/movie.

These buttons for example:

Exact same issue on my end. Glad i am not the only one, though wish it was none of us.

Just confirming this is an issue still with the latest TestFlight build 2026.4.0 (1613).

It is a rather annoying bug.

I am experiencing the same issue when using “Universal Control” with my Macbook to control my iPad with the Macbook’s keyboard and track pad.

This definitely seems to be the case.

Also confirming (through direct testing) what you have found, the following situations all yield the same outcome, that various screen elements can’t be clicked:

iPad with Magic Keyboard (with integrated trackpad)
iPad with Mouse connected by BlueTooth
iPad with Trackpad connected by Universal Control
iPad with Mouse connected by Universal Control

Same here - using an iPad Pro M4 13” with a Magic Keyboard. Several of the UI elements are unclickable with the trackpad, most notably the “X” in the top left which means that I often have to either quit and relaunch the app to navigate back to the main menu or use the touchscreen.

Hoping Plex team can look at this, it is 100% reproducible on all iPads with pointing devices, still no reply as noted or fix after 4 further point releases of the client.
