Yes, I meant Sonos
Sorry long day over here (I’ve corrected my post now thanks!)
ALL:
As suggested by folks in this thread, given the age and length of this thread, to bring this thread into better focus, and with permission from @Craig_Holliday ,
I will be archiving older, less critical posts to an attached “-Archive” thread.
If I accidentally archive something I shouldn’t, please ping me @chuckpa and I’ll bring it back over to this thread.
PS: 700 posts done, 400 more to go ![]()
9 posts were split to a new topic: Apple Player Update Beta - Discussion
ALL:
This is the TESTING thread
– report problems here
I’ll create an “Apple Player Update Beta - Discussion” thread and link it here.
I’ll move the the Discussion posts to that discussion thread.
Apple client technical announcements / issues / reports will remain here.
For those of you involved with the DSM 7 launch, we’ll do the same thing.
- Main thread
- Discussion thread
- Archive thread
Not trying to be that guy, but this is now the testing thread for which “Apple Player” specifically…
- The new Apple TV Plex Experience Beta
- The new Apple iOS Plex Experience Beta
- Or both?
Thanks!
Thanks for that.
UNLESS instructed otherwise, I think both are are appropriate IF APPLE.
A common focal point helps everyone plus the old client has evolved into the new Experience client.
Do I need to do some forum moving / merging?
What will happen to the experimental player TestFlight if the player is not going to be released? Is it possible to shut it down and free up some spots for those of us who cannot get into the TestFlight for the new experience?
I am extremely confused. This thread is a little hard for me to follow. I don’t understand what the Experience Preview App is or the Experimental Player. All I am interested in is understanding when the Apple TV Plex App will be fixed so that it plays video smoothly without any stuttering. Can anyone answer that question?
Smooth video playback has been fixed in the “Experience Preview App” that was launched publicly on iOS yesterday.
The downside is that this app has a number of other bugs, missing features, and a new controversial interface.
It is still in TestFlight beta for the Apple TV.
@Craig_Holliday Just to confirm, when you say hop on the TestFlight of the new app, is this different from the TestFlight of the Preview we were on? Or the same?
That was a very elegant way to put it ![]()
Just buy infuse at this point. They’ll never figure it out.
If Infuse had LiveTV support, I think a majority would have jumped ship?
That and multi-user support.
I updated Plex on my iPad and I agree that the interface is a step back but it’s fine. Any ETA on the update for the Apple TV?
And ability to stream a transcode (aka request transcode) for kids when away from home to save my data plan!
I’m not sure you’d be willing this into existence if you were in the beta…
Hopefully its a long way away.
Set up Jellyfin and use the mobile client for that. Problem solved. No more plex.
