Even regular HDR10 videos look completely wrong to me (too bright, with blown highlights) on this beta.
ive had this previously and thought it was fixed but i now get this in some dolby vision videos that look blown out.
Any chance the tags can be cleaned up with this thread? Perhaps remove Apple TV, iOS and iOS-Beta?
Started happening again today with 2026.9.0. Finished an episode and hit back to go back to plex home and it sent me to ATV home. Tried to open plex and it kept crashing.
Had to uninstall and reinstall to get it to allow it to load.
Perhaps with the new lifetime plex cost of $750, they’ll be able to afford releasing the Apple TV app, finally? 
The current app is on the old codebase without the ‘remote watch’ limitation enforced.
If they wait til after the July 1 price increase, there are going to be a lot who don’t find out about the need of plexpass/subscription until after.
I would not expect the AppleTV app to push until after July1 for that reason.
Player still broken since 2019 while extorting a user base for monthly revenue 
New update is 2026.10.0. Seems to have fixed the focus issues. Everything highlights as I would expect it to when first loading the app and selecting stuff in continue watching.
Honestly, Plex devs, unless you can get HDR10+ support out soon or spiff up DV (like confirming if it is even real DV…), I think this is in a near release state. I pretty much exclusively use the preview app now unless I want to watch something in HDR10+ (I have a Samsung so no DV for me).
I think the tvOS community is pretty soured in general so this may be wishful thinking, but ya’ll could use a win after this lifetime price increase.
Note: I don’t use Live TV stuff, so there may be larger issues there I am not aware of. But still
With today’s update 2026.10.0 (1743), I can no longer disable LiveTV captions at all. Previously, they’d be enabled by default even when the setting showed disabled, But now the previous work around of turning them on and then off again in the playback setting no longer works, and captions are stuck “on”.
Same issue with Live TV Captions, along with app and Server crashing. I could not use the app till I restarted the Server.
I was only trying to turn on Captions to only cause a system crash. 
How do you get a beta invite?

I’ve been complaining about the seek bar behavior on tvOS, but it’s uniquely infuriating on mobile too: It immediately seeks where you touch. If you touch at 20%, it seeks to 20%.
Every (?!) other long-form media player seek bar allows you to activate it by pressing anywhere, and then dragging to scrub. None of them do absolute positioning like this.
Only the mobile/shorts players behave this way - Instagram/YT Shorts.
I have “Lock to landscape” disabled in Plex, and “Portrait Orientation Lock” enabled on my phone.
If I exit the app, when I return and first play a video, it shows the “rotation” animation as though it was switching to Landscape. But then it plays in Portrait.

Can someone tell me what the point of all the testing is? This thread is over 2 years old and it’s been 1 1/2 years since the last update was released for tvOS. WTF are we doing here???

I had to keep checking for a month before it opened up
It only became minimally viable once very common codecs like EAC3 were finally patched to work around January. We are only ~4-5months past minimal viability. There still have been some up and down regressions even since then.
Strategically July makes the most sense for them to be targeting.
