Apple TV 4K - Dolby Atmos

Evening,

I’m a long time Plex Pass user. My setup is a Synology NAS for my PMS and Apple TV 4K as my player. Everything is hard wired. I have two HomePod originals paired and ATV see’s them as Dolby Atmos speakers. My Plex is set to direct play.

I have a bug, which I believe has been around for awhile. When playing 4K movies the sound stops after about a minute.
I’ve tried reading online but a lot of the articles are very old. So I thought I’d ask here instead.

Does Plex with ATV support Dolby Atmos playback at this moment? and is their a fix for the sound cutting out issue?

Otherwise my options are leave the Apple ecosystem and get a Nvidia Shield and Atmos Soundbar (expensive) or try infuse app. I don’t want to do either.

From what I have tested this seems pretty much fixed in the latest beta version.
Hopefully it reaches the store soon…or you could apply for the beta. Scroll down on the first post here for the sign up link.

Infuse is your lowest cost solution.

The linked Beta is not for this issue, and has major image quality regressions, you will be in more pain if you try it today.
