Apple TV - Frame drops on HEVC/HDR files

I’m having issue with Direct Play files on Apple TV. I have a lot of frame drops causing stuttering, this can be seen from the Direct Play overlay option (up to 250 images dropped with the 30s sample files provided).
It seems to happen mostly for 1080p HEVC and/or HDR files, but not all the time.

Apple TV matching range and frequency settings are on.
Disabling direct play or using old player fix the stuttering.

It’s been a while since some users reported this issue.
A first step would be to know if the issue is reproductible.

Here are sample files with the issue, I can create more from different other files if needed.

I get this too. For the longest time, my solution was to disable direct play – and the same files worked flawlessly. However, something in the ecosystem changed in the last week where that is no longer a solution – Apple TV does not play these particular (4K HDR HEVC) files at all when direct play is disabled.
