Is there anyway to speed up the loading of a live tv channel on my Apple TV? The only reason I’m not using it in favour of the Channels app is because how long it takes to change a channel.

I can only assume that it takes time to make the buffer file and then fill the buffer for like 5 seconds on your hard drive before it starts to play, whereas in Channels this is done in the app and on the ATV so it is ram based so it is faster. Just guessing.
For me, its because the channels app is fine with streaming the MPEG file i get from comcast, whereas Plex transcodes it to h.264 making the channel switch very long.
Sticking with Channels for now
I wonder if in the future will have a direct connection for live tv? Avoiding the transcoding, more of just relaying the signal to devices that can handle the stream ? Apple TV, Xbox, etc…
