Apple TV - Make delete button more accessible

Right now, in order to delete recordings from the apple TV, there are multiple UI problems

  1. you can’t do it from post-play view. You have to go back to the thumbnail from the episode. If you watched from On Deck, odds are the thumbnail will disappear because it’s now watched. Good luck finding that one episode to delete it!

  2. You have to hold down the select button on the siri remote to get the Delete option to pop up. This cannot be done on most universal remotes. Neither my harmony nor my Caavo remotes have the concept of “holding down” a button.

While #2 hasn’t been an issue with my Harmony remote I definitely have experienced #1 many times…it’s not intuitive to delete content and to be a serious player in the DVR space the Plex app (across the board) needs to improve the access to the deletion of content once watched. It should be an option available directly from the show information, esp post play, and not have to hunt for it.

#2 is the prescribed Apple TV UI method. It’s also the same way you move apps around on the home screen.

I’ll also say I have no issue holding down the select button on my harmony remote or on my Apple TV remote or on the Apple TV remote app on my iPhone.
