I am still having trouble with stuttering video on Apple TV. Stutters on new Plex video player but not on old player.
It happens only on HEVC, like usual.
I just am dumbfounded how even after a brand new player, and years later we are STILL having this problem. And once again, Infuse usually works perfectly when Plex fails.
Can I ask the source of your files?
There was a widespread issue with certain x265 files encoded until about May of this year.
In that case remuxing with MKVToolNix v45 or newer would immediately correct the issue. It rebuilt missing/incorrect/invalid issues in the streams.
I believe that the player was also modified to mitigate that issue, but the core problem was badly encoded files.
It’s worth testing that, because it’s frequently the solution. It’s also worth posting xml and/or mediainfo output for your files, in case there’s something else relevant or that can be improved.
The source is ripped from the web due to it being unavailable in the States officially. It is unknown to me what it was ripped using.
This happens with a lot of different files, not just this group.
What about it being until May would affect such a thing? Whats the significance there?
The show is unwatchable on the new video player and have had to revert to the old one. They both have problems watching all my content. However I have never had a single problem on Roku. Apple TV plex app seems to still have a ton of issues. I really don’t get why.

The suggestion I offer below might be a bit obscure but it did substantially improve play back of media (hosted on a local Plex media server) to two AppleTV devices on the same local (home) network.
If you are using a smart/managed Ethernet Switch make sure the “default gateway” is configured (typically the IP address of the gateway/router to Internet).
Could you explain a bit more what you mean?
