As of recently i’m having issues with my plex app on my apple TV, gen4(2015). Plex version is Version 1.19.4.2902.
at about 7 minutes or so into a movie (local to me) it errors out with “connection to server is too slow” (feels like a buffer issue…) All other streaming on my apple tv is fine, set router QOS to prioritize it. Plex works fine on two other devices, a roku and web browser.
apple tv signal is good as mentioned no other apps have an issue. I tried hard wiring and that didn’t make a difference. Still errors.
deleted the app and reinstalled, factory reset the apple tv. Still errors.
I’m interested has anyone else had an issue like this? I don’t want to buy another apple tv if its just one app not working. Apple TV is also up to date.
If wireless try to move the ATV to another place
If Wired check your network speed and cables
Check if video is in direct mode or transcode
if transcode perhaps your server does not have enough CPU power do handle.
I’m having an issue now with the latest Plex app 7.6 for Apple TV. The issue is, that when you are watching a program that is recording, when the recording is over Plex App for Apple TV will quit in the middle of playback. In previous versions, the App would continue to play the program even when the recording had finished and would continue onto the next show. Apart from this, I still have the annoying 20 to 30 second delay to start any live TV playback. Not to mention the impossible task of skipping forward or back a live TV session before the app with the spinning wheel of death cause the app to crash.
