While not a far cry from the existing iPad app, an AVP app could have some nice native perks.
- Include and/or support spatial environments for watching content
- SharePlay support can include Spatial Personas - even inside the environments.
I totally agree. I would love to see a native Plex and Plexamp app for the Apple Vison Pro. I’m currently using the iPad versions of the apps, and although they do work, they are not optimized for the device.
One thing I find that doesn’t work well are the hitboxes for some of the buttons don’t consistently register when tapping your fingers to select them. I’d find I would have to move the entire window closer to my face in order to get it to register my taps.
Like the OP mentioned above. I would love to see the following features added specifically for the AVP:
- 3D support for video files (SBS, etc)
- VR support such as VR180, VR360
- Immersive and customizable environents for us to watch and consume our media in.
- Auto and better Crop/Aspect Ratio detection. Right now when watching certain movies, you get black bars above and below which looks terrible. There needs to be an auto detect feature to get the aspect ratio correct so that it can display the movie without those bars. The built in “playback option” is very limited. It’s either zoom, or letterbox, but none of those options seem to get it right. Other players can do this without any problems
Those are just some of the things I would love to see and I really hope the developers will consider doing this.
