UI completely glitchy, blinking between commercials and content unpredictably, after commercial only audio comes back, not video. And general random can’t reach server message.

Power cycle your devices
For this issue, suggest changing your dns servers on the ATV to 1.1.1.1/1.0.0.1 or 8.8.8.8/8.8.4.4. If your router allows you to change them, change it there and power cycle it and the ATV.
Commercial? What does this mean
setting the DNS manually worked for me, though I’m kind of surprised. Why would that be different in the new version? if it’s playing from a local server, why wouldn’t the local router works as the DNS? just kinda weird.
Not sure..there was a fix in 2026.18.0 related to DNS rebind protection and OTA live tv , which is likely similar to what’s happening in this case and to many others. So something with the regular streams on the new app is triggering it with your existing DNS. Just guessing though…haven’t see anything from anyone at Plex about it.
Assume you’re using the isp default dns? I would suggest changing to public dns from the isp ones on your router.
Can you provide a little guidance on how to change DNS on AppleTV? I’m having same issue. ATV sees my server, and library, but if I try to play anything it says “can’t reach server”… thanks.
Settings > Network > select the network you’re connected to > select configure dns > set it to manual > enter one of the options 8.8.8.8 (Google) or 1.1.1.1 ( Cloudflare) > select done
