AppleTV audio sync issues

For sometimes now Plex app on Apple TV is unable to play audio and video in sync. All my videos are h264 1080p m4v and ac3 or AAC audio with or without subtitles. I used to play my video with the old player without any sync issues, but since a moment, the match frame rate doesn’t work anymore with the old player so I had to switch to the new player. This issue as already been told in other thread and I’m surprised that no developer respond.
Now I watch my Plex video in Infuse without any issues but I would prefer to use the actual Plex app.

My questions are :

  • Are you aware about this issue ?
  • Are you able to fix the new Player audio sync ?
  • If not, are you able to fix the match frame rate of the old player ?

I’m also experiencing an audio lag issue with my ATV 4K (2021) on the Plex client. There is no lag when all signals (audio+video) goes through the HDMI cable to my TV and then audio via optical to my Sonos Playbar.

Possibly, doing the audio calibration on ATV for all relevent resolutions (4k,1080p - DV, HDR, SDR - 60,50,30,25,23.9hz etc) could solve your issue?

My problem occur when I use my Airpods Pro or Airpods Pro Max where the audio comes before the video on the TV so the lipsync is way off ( half a second or so ), with no way to adjust it.

Infuse works 100% on the audio but has worse picture quality in my view and I would like to use Plex regardless.
