Previous Thread was closed (probably because Plex hasn’t done diddly.squat about this issue and folks gave up asking about it).
In Nov 22 I posted that Plex suddenly introduced an audio sync problem (as is often the case, the previous thread went off the rails talking about secondary issues instead of the primary issue of SYNC BEING WAAAAY OFF).
Two years later and Plex still can’t play a video from my library without unwatchable sync problems. When is Plex going to stop adding marginal features and FIX THIS BUG!!!???
Angry, you betcha…I’ve spent way too much effort curating my library and too much money on a lifetime Plexpass (at this point ANY MONEY AT ALL IS TOO MUCH) to not be able to watch it.
Not even sure how to do that, but I (almost) always update my SW. Little skittish now however because upgrading to the “advanced player” is what (apparently) caused the audio sync problem in the first place.
I’ve tried that. But it was two years ago and don’t recall why, but I couldn’t make it work. But I have noted that some shows are more laggy than others…having to adjust it every time (not sure that I would have to but my engineering gut tells me I would) is a non-starter.
I’ll check that. Thanks. But note that “sync better” is not acceptable…I want it to sync like it used to with no apparent lag.
I also have this problem. Had it for years now. I have been patiently waiting for the people at Plex to fix it but my patience is wearing a bit thin!
Last I heard it had something to do with Plex not using “metal”. The reason I say this is because I have to use Infuse to play my library on my Apple TV, and Infuse uses metal, and it can play anything from my library perfectly without audio lag.
I much prefer the interface of the Plex Apple TV app, but until this issue is fixed, Infuse is my go-to app. Shame really, as I’d probably pay for a Plex pass if it worked properly!
