This started yesterday, I have an appleTV and when I select anything to watch I get a black screen with a spinning circle and the show/movie never loads. If I try and play a show from a friends plex server that is shared with me the same thing happens. I have removed the plex app and re-installed/re-linked the app to my server twice, I have reset the appleTV to factory defaults and the same thing happens. I also have a roku and the shows/movies play just fine on it.
I have the app in the first row and first spot on the appleTV. Not sure what else I can try, any ideas?
I have shut down my server and restarted it several times but did not fix the issue.
I figured out that if I push play on the apple TV remote the pause the playback then play again the show or movie starts. It works this way when playing a show/movie on a friends server as well.
Not sure if it’s related, but I sometimes get the ”spinning circle” when trying to playback a video, but it seems that it only happens when Plex has been idle for some time. It helps if I press ”menu” on the Apple TV remote and try to play back the same video again – until the next time it happens…
