I was having an issue where my full strength 5ghz connection would buffer and freeze occasionally, even it I transcoded or direct played, didn't matter what the quality was set to.
After being stupidly frustrated, I switched to my 2.4 Ghz network. All my issues went away and the buffer was filled faster than I've even seen it filled on 5ghz
So just PSA/FYI if your'e having issues try hardwiring/switching to a different band to see if the problem goes away
