Are Popular Tracks being updated on the plex metadata backend?

Quick question to the metadata team. Are music Popular Tracks being updated on the plex metadata backend ? I have at least a handful of recently released albums which as of yet have zero popular tracks.

One example (I have a good few more if needed), is Taylor Swift’s - THE TORTURED POETS DEPARTMENT. I’d expect to see the flame icon in plexamp and its missing.

Other information:

  • All albums are tagged with musicbrainz picard
  • All albums are matched in plex and tracks have plex ids
  • Prefer local metadata and Popular tracks are enabled
  • Other (older) albums have popular tracks lists - it almost feels like the plex back-end is not updating with new information
  • Force refreshing metadata on server does not help

This has been an issue for almost a month but I see over the 24/48 hours this has finally been resolved.

I’d guess something in the back-end cache was either stuck or the plex team has been working on stuff which delayed some content.

Regardless, happy to see popular tracks getting updated again.
