Are there any plans to introduce support for gapless audio?

I know this has been discussed before and as a relatively new user of plex it’s my biggest annoyance. Its great for movies and photos, and it has revived my old hifi via a Chromecast Audio, but the lack of gapless audio support is frustrating. I remember this being an issue on software in the 90s so didn’t even consider it existed prior to coughing up my lifetime subscription for Plex!

I’m sorry we do not discuss possible future plans.

The 2 seconds between each song in a live album are exasperating.
The incredible is that this discussion has been going since at least 2011.

So is nonsense what we are asking for?

The most constructive thing you can do is like the first post in this thread:

forums.plex.tv/discussion/55046/popular-gapless-playback/p1

It acts like an upvote.

This is very client specific, isn’t it?

No, the size of the gap is client specific but it exists in all clients.

Can’t believe this has not been addressed yet. Gapless playback is available on many media players, even cheap or free ones. Please get this done Plex… it’s a basic function.
