Are we just not going to show the show/film description in the player now?

Just curious. It was good. Useful.

I have many issues with the Player being a downgrade in usability (using the remote seems hazardous literally every time I’ve skipped somewhere and I just wanted to see the controls) but removing the ability to see the episode description seems crazy to me.

Plex did it. Infuse does it. Apple TV app does it. Why would the new experience remove it?

this also applies to the continue watching/next up screen. Just a massive image of the next episode with space for a description and…. Nothing?

Are these bugs?

What version of the Plex app on tvOS are you using?
I just watched some shows with the “new experience” preview and for all I remember, Plex displayed those descriptions (both on the episode navigation and the up-next screen).

I’ll grab some photos when I’m done watching this show. Don’t want to disturb the player seek time by accident.

For me this seems to only occur on very new Titles or for Premiere Season.

Episodes have Metadata

Ah so I’m talking about the player, not the library.

So… what are we looking at?
I can see your first screenshot is listing the episode’s summary (however short it is). Do you want Plex to show the description in the on-screen menu during playback?

I mean that particular shows descriptions are only that long so…

What I mean is that in the current version of Plex you swiped down and got the episode description, or film description. Now nothing happens. Nor does the next episode description appear when you finish an episode. It’s such a weird omission I can’t tell if it’s a bug and it’s coming back or not.

or if it’s just another casualty of the new Plex player in the new experience.
