Artifacts during video playback

Server Version#: Linux 1.25.1.5286
Player Version#: Web 4.71.0

I use plex on fedora 35 with Nvidia drivers 470.74 installed
since the previous server version I started getting artifacts while playing films, I usually use a Samsung TV but when artifacts began to appear, I could see them on the ps4-client and the web player also.
such problems occur on files 1080p h264, 4k h265…
previously these films were played without problems, they are also playable on a PC without problems …

what should I check/change to get rid of these problems?

@King555

That looks like the playback bitrate (as set by the player) is super low.

Can you check that please ?

I have a limit for watching through Internet 8mb, and no limit on a local network.
this problem appears periodically, maybe once every 5 minutes for 1-3 seconds, or it can repeat every 20 minutes …

@King555

When playing through the internet, we have a whole host of extra issues to worry about.

Looking at the entire list –

  1. Is the server connected with wire or wireless to the internet
  2. Is the player on the other end connected with wire or wireless ?

if wireless is involved – ALL the questions need to be asked.

  1. 2.4 Ghz or 5 Ghz?
  2. Amble bandwidth over the wireless (it’s not too congested and signal is strong enough) ?

Lastly, the video itself. Is it a good quality file or something of unknown and questionable origin ? (could be damaged in a way which only shows when transcoding)

All devices are located in one network and connected to a gigabit router through a wire.
Also 100 mb internet connection in WAN.
Video files have not been modified/replaced
These problems started to appear when I updated Plex-server from 1.24 to 1.25

I found my problem…
Broken RAM. I replaced one stick with a new one and now everything looks good
