Like many people, I have lots of compilation albums, but I also have lots of regular Single Album Artist albums too.
Compared with the feature request here which is not about Plexamp and is almost 2 years old, I think this is a different thing. We’re halfway there already. For instance, I have “Carry On My Wayward Son” from both the original “Leftoverture” Album, but also from “Mullets Rock!” a compilation. When I select Kansas → “Go to Artist” from the Compilation Album in Plexamp, I’m given this option:
and when I click it, then I’m shown this:
But, if I select a different artist from the compilation album, one that I don’t have any of their tracks from an existing album in which they are the sole Album Artist, like for instance Meatloaf, off the same compilation album, I am shown only the “Various Artists” option, with no option to have an Artist Bio page. Notice the lack of … on the “Go to Artist” option; it only shows “Various Artists” as my only option.
This seems a bit unfair to folks who have a lot of Compilation Albums. Why can’t artists that you only have as part of Compilations get an Artist Bio page? Is there a reason for this omission?
