As stated in the subject, artist radio has been broken for nearly a year. It only plays 5 tracks, no additional tracks load and it completely stops. I run plex on NVIDIA shield, and multiple other devices, all with the same result. Is this EVER getting fixed?
I am guessing I will get the standard response, in that it is on the list, but just hasn’t made it to the top. So how long is the damn list? Why is this so difficult to get resolved?!? This is not an isolated issue, there are others who are experiencing this!!!
Do you guys even care about the quality of your product anymore?
This is not for plex Amp but for the android stream device app. I am using on an Nvidia shield, and PS5. When you go to an artist’s page, select the play artist radio button it creates a 5 song Playlist and then stops, no further artists are added.
Yes I can confirm tried the same on the Nvidia shield. Here is what is counter intuitive. But I got the same results as you did. But if you scroll down to the large play triangle next to the five songs and hit enter I got all of the artist music I had for that artist to play. Like a long 20 song list.
I had the same thing happen when I just hit play to the left of the artist radio. So it looks like artist radio is only playing the songs listed on the screen. But if you hit regular play it plays all the songs you have under that artist.
I also hit the shuffle button to mix it up.
I recommend you change the title of the post and put the words (BUG) Artist Radio in the title. And add the tags for Nvidia shield as the topics. That should help get it some more visibility by the community.
Thanks for looking into this, but artist radio used to play a mix of artists similar to the artist selected and not solely songs by that particular artist. It does work when running from w/in a browser, as it used to from the Nvidia shield. If you hit the “Play Radio” button (circled in pic) it generates the playlist in pic 2 (accessed from the “play queue” button at the bottom of the page pic 3. Then if you hit the ‘skip’ button about 7 songs forward, more songs populate from various artists similar to each other, which I believe is either the smart shuffling feature in settings > library (show advanced options)
“Enable smart shuffling on artists and smart music playlists
Smart shuffling prefers highly rated, popular and less recently heard tracks.”
and or the sonically similar feature:
Analyze audio tracks for sonic features
as a scheduled task and when media is added
Sonic analysis allows various features, such as track radio. It can take a long time to complete when analyzing many tracks, and cause high CPU usage.
