I am writing to report a specific issue I’ve been experiencing with the Plex app on my Samsung Tizen Smart TV. When I play vertical videos (1080x1920), the aspect ratio doesn’t seem to be correct. The video appears to be horizontally stretched out on my screen.
Interestingly, when I play the same video on the Plex web app or via Chromecast, the aspect ratio is displayed correctly, so the issue appears to be isolated to the Plex app on the Samsung Tizen platform.
I’ve looked online for solutions and found that I’m not the only one encountering this problem. However, I haven’t come across any effective solutions or workarounds yet.
Given the increasing prevalence of vertical video content, I suspect that there might be a good number of users who are also experiencing this inconvenience. If a solution could be found and implemented, it would greatly enhance the Plex experience on Samsung Tizen devices.
If there are any known issues related to this, or if there’s any ongoing discussion or development regarding this matter, I would appreciate any information you could share. Your help in resolving this issue would be greatly appreciated.
