The video files use a different dash / hyphen in their file names than your subtitle files.
Make sure this is just a regular dash/minus character.
When in doubt, copy the whole file name from the video to the subtitle file (except the file name extension, of course).
The file name of the subtitle must be identical to the file name of the videofile. Including upper/lower case.
(again, except of course the language code and the filename extension).
To add to Otto, here is an example for a movie. Movies and series follow the same naming requirement.
