ZDF plugin stopped working after update

Hi!

The author of the "popular german [ZDFmediathek](http://forums.plexapp.com/index.php?showtopic=3940&st=0&p=25680&#entry25680) plugin is currently busy. So I am asking for help in the english board section. The plugin stopped working since the last plex update.

Problem is that Plex doesn’t want to play the mms stream anymore, here

mms://ondemand.msmedia.zdf.newmedia.nacamar.net/zdf/data/msmedia/zdf/09/04/090415_1917_hko_vh.wmv

I just checked Plex 0.7.11 on my MacBook and there it still works. Streams also play perfectly in VLC or mplayer.

If it opens the stream in 0.7.13 and not in 0.7.14 then there’s a good chance it’s related to the ffmpeg upgrade that’s in 0.7.14 - in which case I’d say the best thing would be to create a ticket at http://plexapp.lighthouseapp.com/ with the logs you provided up top.

If you do attach a log, please enable debug logging in the advanced settings dialog first - it’ll provide much more detailed output Thanks!

Well it’s not a ffmpeg related problem I think.

I can run the stream without a problem form the command line.

So I guess it's more a Media Server Plugin problem.

Just a GUESS … can we force the playback with MPLAYER instead of DVDplayer? … would that make a difference?

How are you returning those links to Plex from the Media Server? It looks like it’s trying to open an HTTP connection. The mms:// stream plays fine if I put it in an strm file.

Basically, you can’t play these sorts of streams from HTTP because it doesn’t redirect to MMS. If you return it as MMS via a VideoItem it should play fine, I think, but I’d have to see the plug-in and what it’s doing.

You can also hit the media server from Firefox (e.g. http://localhost:32400/video/)) and paste in the XML it’s returning with the videos in them.

I change the protocol header because this is what I have to do to make the stream work within MPC on my windows machine.

I put the stream:

"mms://ondemand.msmedia.zdf.newmedia.nacamar.net/zdf/data/msmedia/zdf/09/03/090327_kochen_lko_vh.wmv"

into a file called "test.strm" ==> same error "Open - Error, could not open mms:// ..."

Just click on the first item in each of the menus ... until you see the streams ...

to find out the difference between your setup and mine … I have send a PLEX-Report “rnio-stream-issue-05-2-09”

I also UPDATED the file at the WIKI to make sure you have 100% what I have.

BTW Thanks for taking your precious time to help me debug this … many Germans will be VERY thankful. At least THREE plug-in are affected by this.

This is RESOLVED with the new upcoming version 7.16

I tested it with 7.15.5 (pre-view Beta).
