I started messing around with ‘collections’ in a well populated library, and saw no option other then editing the tags one file at a time. It would be useful to select multiple files on the library page, and assign the same tag to all of them at once. Organizing collections would be easier.
Unless I’m misunderstanding what you’re asking, you can already do this. On the library page, when you hover over a movie’s poster, there’s a small circle in the upper-left corner. Click it and that movie will be selected; you can select multiple items:
Once selected, click the edit button (pencil in the upper-right corner of the window) and you can edit the tags for all selected items:
