Installed PMS on my desktop pc. Opening Plex in the browser and logged in, I’m asked to Get Plex Media server.
On my Laptop it works and I set my Libraries, but it doesnt work on my desktop
Any suggestion?

Are you using a different plex account on your laptop? Because I can see no server at all on your account.
Yes…After reinstalling PLex on my desktop, I tried also changing account. At the end I Installed on my laptop with a different account. Now I’m connected also on my desktop with REMOBAL account. I see libraries that are on my laptop in an undirected way. Can I set up new libraries on my desktop? tks
The name of the serveron the laptop is ASUSREMO. I switched off my laptop, and on my desktop I can’t see the server anymore (of course). It doesn’t recognize that PMS is running on this PC
access to your server is tied to account.
generally you should have a single plex account, and all your devices (server, mobile apps, tv apps, streamers, etc) should be logged into the same plex account.

And yes, decide on one account. Don’t try to juggle with several of them. It’ll end in tears.
Ok, but I opened another account on my desktop hoping to solve the problem not being able to see any server with the first account. I logged in on my laptop only after trying and retrying on my desktop. But I need Plex on my desktop…What can I do?
decide which account you want to use, log out the wrong one, log in the right one.
keep in mind, there is the plex web site, and each device has its own log in/log out.
Sorry guys, probably I wasn’t able to explain my problem. I installed on my desktop PMS, I tried to configure a server but in the plex page on the browser I am asked to…get PMS. No way to configure my libraries. Then I tried on my laptop, and everything worked. Any suggestion how to make it work on my desktop?
on your desktop
- go to Plex Web
- at the top right corner, click the circle
- click sign out
- sign back in with the same account you used on your laptop
- you should now be able to see/manage your server on the laptop, from your desktop
I solved my problem. I opened the Plex register log in my desktop pc and I found the account I logged in the very first time. So I relogged with this account and everything fine. Logging with a different account in a pc doesn’t change the log info, and the server will not work.
