Same Server database, multiple WINDOWS accounts

I run a Plex Server from my primary PC. I would like my girlfriend to be able to watch something in the living room while I'm on my account, and also be able to access the same Server from her own account when I am not home or she is using the computer. Currently when I install Plex Server on her account, it shows as a new set up and I would have to add all the media again, and it would not have the same On Deck and all that.

Is there any way to have a single Plex Server work from multiple Windows accounts? It seems like it should be a relatively simple thing, I don't see any kind of option for it anywhere. Thanks for the help.

The Plex Server only needs to be running on one PC.

Assuming the two PC's can see each other on the network... all you should need to do is install a Plex "Client" on her PC.

(Plex Home Theater, PlexWeb, Windows 8.1, or whatever her system supports).

She can log in to the client, set it to see your server, and you're done.

So if I install client software on her account, she'll be able to view the contents of the Server installed on my account on the TV? I don't see how this could be the case, have you misunderstood my question? We're viewing the content of the Plex server on the TV using the app in the Amazon Fire TV. I want it to pick up the exact same server whether or not the host PC is logged into my account or hers.

The server is only installed once. and it should only run in ONE account on a computer

All accounts / all devices on the local network / all computers on the local network - will all have access to this server

If you want the server to load even when you are not there then run it as an service in your account and she can access the server from a browser of plex home theater in her account

See PMS As A Service

I was totally confused... you said in the title of this thread, "Multiple Windows Accounts" so I assume you were trying to access your server from different "PC's"...   that run...   you know.... Windows.   Now that you are saying that you are using Amazon Fire TV as your Client... I think get it.

When you installed PMS (Plex Media Server) on your PC, you did so while logged in to "your account." (most likely as an administrator).  But if you log out of that PC, and your wife logs in as herself, then PMS is not running for her.

I get it.

Take sa2000's advice and run PMS as a "Service" on that PC.  That way the PMS will start up, simply because the PC started up... regardless of who logs in to use it.  Your Amazon Fire TV client will then be able to see your content, as long as the PC is running on either/any account.

I think you’ve just answered my question too, thanks for that
